About

"Everything that's happening to you, is what's suppose to be happening to you. So just relax."
Chris Martin
"Whatever you do as an artist, people have to have an experience. It's not about the details or the wrong note or what tuning the piano is. It doesn't matter. It all doesn't matter. It only matters what people think when they leave the room and what their impression was."
Nils Frahm
"For me, the greatest thing about being a musician is being in the position to inspire other people. I take such pleasure in hearing that people have been motivated to create after hearing my music, whether it be a painting, a poem, their own music or something completely different. Music is not a one way street, it is a conversation where the listener's role is as important as the artist's."
Olafur Arnalds
“I want to go and write music that announces to you that you can feel something. I don’t want to tell you what to feel, but I just want you to have the possibility of feeling something.”
Hans Zimmer
"When you feel totally alone in your thoughts and feelings, there's someone out there who is going through what you went through, even if it's the strangest, weirdest thing you could think of."
Sampha

Music is something that Ivan Pastyrcak always felt very passionate about. He had an early introduction to music, listening to grandparents Emília and Vincent playing on diatonic button accordion and harmonica every day while growing up. It was through this that Ivan began to explore the beauty of musical art form which led him to start learning the piano and music composition under guidance of Mgr. Art. Jana Pavlinská when he was 14 years old.

While in his teenage years, he started to immerse himself in all different genres including classical music, ambient, minimal, musique concrete and lo-fi music but predominantly hip-hop. While in high school in 2011, these experimentations ended up in forming one of the current most successful hip-hop bands in Slovakia called HAHA Crew, being one of the co-founders and music producers of this band. After dozens of unreleased songs, Ivan produced one of the first releases of Samey, HAHA Crew member, called Ticho/Silence in 2013 featuring rapper Puerto and female singer Salome.

At the end of 2013, Ivan moved to Bratislava and next three years began to dive into world of audio recording, mixing and audio post-production being very interested in the quality of recorded sound. He started working with artists from music label F*CK THEM, such as Gleb who Ivan helped to record few songs. At the end of this period in 2016, Ivan moved back to Košice where he worked as an audio technician building PA systems and providing technical support for bands and live sound engineers. This experience has shown Ivan totally different perspective on music creation which was more technical and laid the groundwork for his future development in the creative aspect of music composition.

In 2017, Ivan got accepted and have received an offer from seven universities in the UK and Ireland including University of York, Leeds College of Music and Pulse College, to study music composition and music production at undergraduate level. He ended up at Pulse College in Dublin, Ireland where in 2020 Ivan finished his BA (Hons) with distinction and his thesis was focused on music composition for film documentaries. This period of Ivan’s career was mainly built on the basis of getting practical experience that he gained during three years of the studies. He was trained at the world-famous Windmill Lane Recording Studios where Ivan met and worked for various world-famous artists, whether in the field of popular music or film music, which helped him in further development as an artist. One of those was participation on the recording of full orchestra with the world-famous conductor Eimear Noone and composer Craig Stuart Garfinkle for animated film named “Ooops! The Adventure Continues” in 2019.
